Our Team
Adam Morgan
Managing Partner
Having worked with small volunteer-led nonprofits to some of the largest nonprofits in the world – and everything in between, Adam brings a wide range of experience to MVP Advisors.
In his 20 years of nonprofit experience, Adam has worked in veterans services, higher education, cancer research, human services, and environmental education and conservation. He is excited to bring that experience to your organization!
Adam has a Masters in Philanthropic Studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy where he was a member of the Nu Lambda Mu honors society. He has helped found several small nonprofits in Delaware and currently serves on the boards of The Pilot School and the Spur Impact Association.
He has been a Director and has led major gifts, annual fund, campaigns, special events and membership programs for the American Cancer Society, Freedom Alliance, The Salvation Army, Phi Kappa Psi Foundation, and Delaware Nature Society.
Adam loves to see the people that he coaches and works with thrive doing the things that they are passionate about. In his personal time Adam enjoys family time with his wife and their two young children, traveling together as much as they can and spending time at the Delaware beaches! Kara Schmid, MBA
Director of Marketing
With more than a decade of experience in the marketing and communications space, Kara has developed a passion for helping organizations find their voice. She works with nonprofits to tell their stories, build awareness and raise funds for their critical missions and programs along the way.
Kara has a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a master’s in Business Administration, a combination she uses to pair impactful words with effective strategies to reach the right audience and spark action. She believes that a creative mind never truly shuts off, and is constantly looking for ways to take MVP’s clients’ outreach and fundraising to the next level.
When she isn’t working, Kara most enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, especially in the woods or on a lake. Or, find her getting a bit too emotionally attached to fictional characters, both on page and on screen.
